Ajit Doval To Visit Moscow

National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval will visit Moscow this week to discuss the Russia-Ukraine conflict, sources confirmed. This follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent diplomatic efforts, including visits to Russia in July and Ukraine in August.

After meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Modi spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 27. During the call, Modi stressed India’s commitment to resolving the conflict through political and diplomatic means. It was during this conversation that both leaders agreed to send Doval to Moscow for further peace talks.

The Russian Embassy revealed that Putin shared his views on Ukraine’s actions and Western involvement. Modi emphasized the need for dialogue and practical engagement to achieve a lasting resolution.

Doval’s visit coincides with the BRICS NSA meeting in Kazan this week, where top security officials from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa will gather. New BRICS members, including Saudi Arabia and Iran, will also attend. Doval is expected to hold bilateral talks with Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.

World leaders believe India can play a crucial role in resolving the Ukraine conflict. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni recently highlighted India’s potential during a forum in Italy, following discussions with Zelensky.

Russian President Putin, speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, acknowledged India’s efforts in resolving the conflict. He expressed confidence in India’s sincerity and commitment to peace.

India remains committed to supporting an “early, peaceful resolution” to the ongoing crisis.
