Kim Jong Un: North Korean Will Never Give Up Space Reconnaissance

On Wednesday, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un stated that the ability to perform space reconnaissance is crucial for national self-defence and sovereignty protection and that the country will never give up efforts to get it.

North Korea’s effort to launch a spy satellite failed on Monday when the first-stage rocket burst in flight.

Kim’s remarks came during his visit to the country’s Academy of Defence Sciences.

“Possessing military reconnaissance satellites is a crucial task to strengthen national self-defence deterrence and protect national sovereignty and security from potential threats … due to U.S. military acts and provocations”, Kim noted.

Kim slammed South Korea for denouncing the satellite launch, claiming Seoul was playing with fire by putting on a show of force and conducting fighter jet drills.
