Defence Minister Rajnath Singh: BJP Alters Perception of Politics, Fulfills Promises in Saharanpur Campaign

They do not care about the public or the nation. This was a prevalent impression of politicians and political parties. “We have altered this perspective.

Saharanpur: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh stated on Wednesday that the BJP has changed the public’s perception of politicians and politics. Speaking at a campaign event for the BJP’s Saharanpur candidate, Raghav Lakhanpal, Singh noted that a few years ago, there was a prevalent belief that politicians spun tales to gain votes and then disappeared, showing little concern for the public or the nation.

“We have altered this perspective. It is part of our character to follow through on our promises. Previously, it was assumed that politicians would lie, but we changed that perception,” Singh explained.

According to the Defence Minister, political parties often make grand promises in their manifestos but fail to fulfill them once in power. “We have overcome the lack of trust in politics. We vowed to abolish Article 370, and we did so after taking office. We pledged to eliminate triple talaq, and we accomplished it after winning a majority in Parliament,” Singh stated.

Singh emphasized that political parties make significant promises in their manifestos but often forget them after assuming power. “We have overcome the crisis of confidence in politics. We had promised to revoke Article 370, and we fulfilled that promise after assuming power. We had promised to abolish triple talaq, and we did it after securing a majority in Parliament,” Singh said.
