UP BOARD EXAMINATION RECORD
Prayagraj: The UP Secondary Education Board has set a new record by completing the world’s largest board examination in 2024 in 12 working days.
This year, the UP board prepared a foolproof plan for all the segments, and a strict vigil was also kept in every center of the state. In comparison to the previous year, the number of candidates caught using unfair means was very low.
According to Divyakant Shukla, secretary of the UP Secondary Education Board, only forty-eight students were caught cheating, and the number of impersonators too was the lowest at 37.
This year, a total of 55,25,308 candidates registered for the 2024 board exams, of which 29,47,311 registered for high school and 25,77,997 for the intermediate exam. Out of these, 3,24,008 students did not appear for the board exams, which included 1,84,986 in class 10 and 1,39,022 in class 12.
Last year, in 2023, out of 58,85,745 candidates who registered, 4,50,011 students were absent, including 252833 in class 10 and 1,97,178 in intermediate.
This year, a high command center with twenty-four hours of continuous monitoring of examination centers and strong rooms and more than 2.90 lakh CCTV cameras with voice recorders were installed in 1.35 lakh examination rooms and the premises of all 8,265 exam centers, apart from a command and control center established at the board’s headquarters and all five regional offices. The board also appointed 180 employees for the command and control center, which was set up on the UP board premises.
