PM Modi Advocates for Clean, Transparent, Tech-Savvy Governments at UAE Summit

Addressing the World Government Summit in Dubai, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the pivotal role of clean and transparent governance in tackling global challenges. He lauded UAE President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed’s visionary leadership and advocated for technologically driven, corruption-free governance worldwide.

Highlighting the escalating challenges spanning food, health, water, energy security, education, and societal inclusivity, PM Modi underscored governments’ multifaceted responsibilities towards citizens. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering women-led development and enhancing social and financial well-being.

PM Modi’s ongoing visit to the UAE, his seventh since 2015, aims to bolster bilateral ties. Scheduled engagements include high-level discussions and the inauguration of Abu Dhabi’s first Hindu temple, the BAPS Mandir.

The UAE ranks among India’s top four foreign direct investors, with bilateral trade amounting to $85 billion in the fiscal year 2022-23. Key agreements such as the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and the Local Currency Settlement (LCS) System have further facilitated economic collaboration.

With approximately 3.5 million Indian expatriates, constituting the UAE’s largest expatriate community, their contributions have significantly contributed to socio-economic progress and strengthened people-to-people bonds between the two nations.
