Once a James Bond is not always a James Bond. Daniel Craig says “I do not want to go back” to the James Bond days.
The 54-year-old actor says that he needs to “move on” from James Bond for bigger demand in life.
Discussing his decision to bid good bye to 007 role after fifteen years following being killed off in ‘No Time to Die’, British actor feels that his exit was vital for both his acting career and the spy franchise.
Craig told to media that he had just one option out of the two available – “Two things, one for the franchise and one for myself.”
“The one option for the franchise, was about the reset getting started again, and that’s what they (the franchise) did with me. And I was wondering, ‘Well, you need to reset again.’ So let us kill my character off going to find another Bond and rather opting for going to find another story. I started thrice, – at 23, then at 25, then at the age of 30.”
Explains the ex-James Bond, he was frustrated at himself for constantly being referred to the physical demands of playing 007 rather than explaining the creative sides of the spy series.
He realizes saying, “It certainly is my fault since I did not shut up about the fact that I was having the injuries.”
“I’m pretty pissed off at myself that I never spoke about them. I emphasized on more work towards the creative side of those flicks rather than doing the physical side of the Bond movies.”
Apart from Bond flicks, many other iconic movies are on Craig’s name, namely Love and Rage, The Power of One, Happy & Glorious, One Life, etc. Daniel Craig appears now set for the release of his upcoming movie which is based on a murder mystery – Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is almost slated to have a limited theatre release this month itself on November 23, 2022 which will be followed by Netflix OTT streaming on December 23, 2022.
