Users who recharge their mobile prepaid plans via Google Pay, also known as Gpay, may soon be subject to convenience costs of up to Rs 3.
Google Pay was favored by many since it does not impose additional fees when making payments for mobile recharges, even though PayTM and other payment platforms like PhonePe already charge a convenience fee.
Famous tipster Mukul Sharma noticed the increased convenience fee on X as well, and other users began to complain that they had also been paid more. He continued by providing more information regarding the most recent update to Google Pay, which appears to be that plans for mobile phones that cost between Rs. 100 and Rs. 200 will not be subject to convenience fees.
However, users who choose prepaid plans priced at Rs 201 to Rs 300 and Rs 301 and above may be required to pay Rs 2 and Rs 3 in convenience fees.It turns out that only cellphone recharges appear to be subject to the new convenience fee; payments for electricity bills and FASTag recharges are exempt.

Although the tech giant may not have formally disclosed the additional convenience fees, on November 10 it modified the Google Pay Terms of Service and may have added a new clause called “Google Fees,” which raises the possibility that the business may begin charging more for cell recharges.
