Manish Sisodia Granted Temporary Release
Former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, currently incarcerated in Tihar Jail over an alleged liquor scam, was granted temporary release to visit his ailing wife. The city court permitted a six-hour window, from 10 am to 4 pm, for this meeting. Accompanied by police personnel, Sisodia arrived at his residence on Mathura Road in a prison van at 10 am.
This wasn’t the first attempt at such a visit; in June, the Delhi High Court granted permission, but it was thwarted due to Seema’s hospitalization following a sudden deterioration in her multiple sclerosis condition.

While allowing the meeting, the court imposed restrictions, instructing Sisodia not to engage with the media or partake in any political activities during his release.
A significant figure in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Sisodia previously served as deputy chief minister and held various portfolios, including the Excise Department, in the Arvind Kejriwal government. His arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in February led to his resignation from these positions. Despite his arrest, his family continued to reside at his former official residence on Mathura Road, sharing it with Education Minister Atishi.

Notably, Sisodia’s recent bail application in the case faced a setback as the Supreme Court rejected it. His legal challenges persist in connection with the ongoing investigation.
