The body of a Los Angeles model was discovered last month in her downtown apartment placed inside a refrigerator, with her wrists and ankles tied and her mouth gagged. On September 12, Maleesa Mooney, 31, was discovered dead in her opulent flat. Her death was classified as “homicidal violence” by the LA County Medical Examiner’s Office earlier this month, but an autopsy report acquired on Friday revealed the graphic details of how her remains were found in her apartment.
After being battered and shackled, Ms. Mooney was shoved inside her own refrigerator. Her corpse had suffered blunt force injuries, according to the autopsy, and tests conducted by a toxicologist confirmed that she had some cocaine and alcohol in her system.
The medical examiner noted in the autopsy report that “the blunt force traumatic injuries observed at autopsy are generally not considered acutely life-threatening on their own.” “However, these injuries imply that Ms. Mooney was probably engaged in a serious physical conflict before her death, given the circumstances surrounding her discovery. In light of this, it is unclear what, if any, part drugs and/or alcohol may have played in Ms. Mooney’s demise ” according to a report.
Last month, when her mother phoned the police to do a “welfare check” on the model, the 31-year-old was discovered dead in her apartment. Her body was “wedged in the refrigerator,” according to the sources, and when the police entered the flat, they discovered a puddle of blood beneath her.
