Ukrainian Military: Helicopter Incident Leads To Death Of 6 Servicemen

The Ukrainian military announced on Wednesday that six servicemen were killed aboard two helicopters while carrying out missions in eastern Ukraine.

There was no word on what transpired on Tuesday involving two frequently utilized Mi-8 helicopters.

On Telegram, the Ukrainian military wrote that the men were carrying out missions in the sector of the Russian-held eastern city of Bakhmut when they died.

The incident took place in Kramatorsk, a big town west of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region that has seen much of the combat during Russia’s 18-month invasion of its neighbor.

According to Ukrainska Pravda, the two helicopters were completely destroyed and the remains were found at the scene.

An Air Force official, Yevhen Rakita, informed public broadcaster Suspilne that the men on board were officers. He stated that a memorial service for the men would held on Thursday in the central town of Poltava but that their identities were not being made public for security reasons.
