Ukrainian officials said early Tuesday that the Russian military launched a significant drone assault on Kyiv overnight as well as other districts, although no injuries were reported.
“New massive air attack on the capital”, the Kyiv City Military Administration said, adding that it was the city’s first attack in 18 days to deploy Iranian-made Shahed explosive drones.
On Telegram, it stated, “According to the usual tactics for mass UAV attacks, drones entered the capital in waves, heading from different directions. The air alert lasted more than three hours”.
“In the airspace around Kyiv, our forces and air defence means detected and destroyed nearly two dozen enemy targets”, it continued.
“At this time, there is no information on casualties or destruction”, it added.
“Drones hit critical infrastructure in Lviv to the west”, regional administration head Maksym Kozytski remarked on Telegram without providing any specifics.
There were no reported injuries.
According to the military administration of Zaporizhzhia, the southern city and its surroundings were the target of a massive attack on civilian targets.
On Telegram, Governor Vitaliy Kim stated, “Three Shahed drones were also shot down over Mykolaiv’s southern district”.
The Ukrainian General Staff later stated that 28 of the 30 drones launched by Russian forces overnight were shot down by Ukrainian air defences.
