Rishi Sunak with Volodymyr Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the country will soon receive the largest-ever military aid package from the United Kingdom, totalling 500 million pounds ($619 million).
On Telegram, following a phone conversation with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Volodymyr Zelensky wrote, “The package will include Storm Shadow and other missiles, hundreds of armoured vehicles and watercraft, and ammunition”.
Zelensky stated that they also discussed bilateral defence cooperation, with a focus on marine and long-range capabilities.
According to the British Parliament, the UK, one of Ukraine’s largest donors, has promised around 12 billion pounds in support since February 2022, with 7.1 billion going towards military assistance.
