Trump Warns Of More Strikes On Iran If Peace Talks Fail

US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran, declaring that if peace does not follow swiftly, America will strike additional targets with ‘precision, speed and skill’.

His comments came just hours after the United States launched airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites — Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan — in what he called a ‘historic’ operation.

In a televised briefing from the White House on Saturday night (US time), Trump lauded the US Armed Forces for executing what he described as one of the most complex military operations ‘in many, many decades’.

He said, “There has never been a military that could have done what took place just a little while ago.”

He added, “This cannot continue. There will either be peace or tragedy for Iran, far greater than what we have witnessed over the last eight days.”

Warning of further strikes

Trump emphasised that the strike on Saturday night targeted Iran’s nuclear enrichment capabilities and sought to halt what he termed a ‘nuclear threat posed by the world’s number one state sponsor of terror’.

He warned, “Most of the remaining targets can be taken out in a matter of minutes.”

He called on Iran to cease its confrontation with Israel and said the United States would act again if provoked.

“If peace does not come quickly, we will go after those other targets,” he asserted.

The US President also expressed firm support for Israel’s ongoing military actions against Iran.

He thanked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his leadership and praised the Israeli military’s efforts.

“We worked as a team, like perhaps no team has ever worked before,” he remarked.

The conflict between Israel and Iran escalated on 13 June, when Israel launched a surprise strike on Iranian positions.

Israeli authorities have claimed the offensive was a preemptive measure to thwart Tehran’s alleged ambitions to acquire nuclear weapons — an allegation Iran continues to deny.

The airstrikes mark a significant escalation in tensions across the Middle East, a region already destabilised by the prolonged conflict in Gaza since October 2023.

The US involvement represents a shift from diplomatic attempts to renegotiate the 2015 nuclear accord — abandoned by the US in 2018 — to direct military engagement.

Iranian state media confirmed damage to parts of the Fordow facility in what it described as ‘enemy strikes’.

However, detailed assessments of the damage remain unavailable as of now.

Future uncertain as global concern grows

As the region braces for further developments, global leaders have called for restraint and diplomacy.

With both military momentum and political stakes intensifying, the coming days will likely determine whether peace is achievable or if more strikes will follow.
