Terror Strikes Peshawar: Gunmen Storm FC Headquarters, Security Forces Respond

Unidentified gunmen launched a coordinated attack on the Pakistan Frontier Constabulary (FC) Headquarters on Monday. Triggered two explosions in quick succession and sparked an intense gun battle inside the compound, according to local media.

The Ministry of Interior oversees the Pakistan Federal Constabulary, a federal paramilitary force that maintains law and order throughout Pakistan.

Initial reports indicate that three security personnel were killed in the assault, which has plunged the high-security zone into lockdown.

The assault began with a suicide blast at the main FC gate, followed by an IED explosion at a nearby motorcycle stand.

The twin detonations caused widespread panic, enabling three to five unidentified assailants to storm in and fight security forces closely.

Security forces have secured the outer perimeter of the FC Headquarters and sealed all routes leading to Saddar and nearby areas.

Officials confirmed that two attackers have been neutralised, though the exact number of militants involved remains under assessment.

The ongoing gunfire indicates that more assailants may still be hiding inside the facility. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Moreover, the attack occurred just days after a suicide bomber struck a police vehicle outside Islamabad’s district court on November 11, killing 12 and injuring 27.

Additionally, a TTP faction claimed responsibility for the strike and reiterated its demand to impose Islamic law across Pakistan.
