Taiwan Monitors Increased Chinese Military Activity Around Its Territory

Taiwan on Thursday said that it tracked 1 Chinese military aircraft, and 8 naval vessels operating around the nation.

On Thursday, Taiwan tracked 1 Chinese military aircraft, and 8 naval vessels operating around the nation. It was between 6 am on Wednesday to 6 am on Thursday.

According to the Taiwan Ministry of National Defence, the aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait.

The aircraft also entered Taiwan’s southeastern Air Defence Identification Zone.

The Armed Forces have monitored the situation and responded accordingly. The forces have employed CAP aircraft, Navy vessels, and coastal missile systems in response to the detected activities.

Taking to X, the Taiwan Ministry of National Defence said, “1 #PLA aircraft and 8 PLAN vessels operating around #Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. today. The aircraft entered Taiwan’s SE ADIZ. #ROCArmedForces have monitored the situation and responded accordingly.”

Earlier on Wednesday, Taiwan detected 26 Chinese military aircraft, 10 naval vessels operating around the nation. It was between 6 am on Tuesday to 6 am on Wednesday.

According to the Taiwan Ministry of National Defence, 19 aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait.

The aircraft also entered Taiwan’s northern and southwestern Air Defence Identification Zone.

The Armed Forces have monitored the situation and responded accordingly. The forces have employed CAP aircraft, Navy vessels, and coastal missile systems in response to the detected activities.

Taking to X, the Taiwan Ministry of National Defence said, “26 PLA aircraft and 10 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. 19 of the aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan’s northern and southwestern ADIZ. #ROCArmedForces have monitored the situation and responded accordingly.”

Since September 2020, China has increased its use of gray zone tactics. This includes incrementally increasing the number of military aircraft and naval ships operating around Taiwan.
