Russia claimed to have destroyed a Ukrainian military boat in the Black Sea on Tuesday, the second vessel it claims to have targeted in a matter of hours.
Moscow’s defence ministry claimed, “On August 22 at about 11:00 Moscow time (0800 GMT) east of Snake Island, a US-made Willard Sea Force speedboat with a Ukrainian landing group was destroyed by a Russian army aircraft”.
Following the collapse of a United Nations-brokered agreement to secure safe navigation for grain ships in the Black Sea last month, both Ukraine and Russia have increased their operation in the area.
Moscow claims to have foiled a slew of Ukrainian marine drone strikes on its warships, including last Thursday evening, when it claimed a drone assaulted the Black Sea Fleet.
