Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games in Bishkek on Monday. He wished the Indian contingent success at the biennial sporting event.

PM Modi interacted with several world leaders during the ceremony. He watched performances and cultural presentations by participating nations.
The Prime Minister stood and waved as the Indian contingent appeared during the inaugural parade.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said PM Modi joined other SCO leaders at the official opening. It described the biennial Games as a celebration of the sporting traditions, culture and heritage of nomadic civilisations.
The event brings participating nations together through sport and shared cultural traditions.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin travelled in the same car to Bishkek Arena after concluding their bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.
The gesture mirrored their journey during the SCO Leaders’ Summit in Tianjin, China, last September.

During his talks with Putin, Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India’s support for peace efforts in Ukraine. He stressed that humanity must move from prolonged conflict towards an end to the war.
“As you know, India supports all efforts towards peace and will continue to do so. Every day spent in war pushes humanity backwards, while every step taken towards peace fills humanity with a new hope and enthusiasm. We must move from endless war to an end to war. This is essential for the well-being of humanity,” Prime Minister Modi said.
