Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu will visit Yad Vashem on Thursday before holding expanded bilateral talks at the King David Hotel.
The meeting will review the India-Israel Strategic Partnership, focusing on defence, science and technology, trade and people-to-people ties, along with regional and global developments.
The two sides are likely to sign several MoUs across the economic, security and diplomatic sectors, followed by joint media statements outlining the outcomes.
India is moving towards finalising a strategic partnership to acquire Iron Dome technology, described as a landmark initiative.
The arrangement goes beyond procurement and forms a core component of India’s indigenous ‘Mission Sudarshan Chakra’, or Project Kusha.
Israel has formally offered to transfer Iron Dome technology under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, enabling local production and integration into a multi-layered air defence system against short-range rockets, mortars and drone swarms.
India is also showing strong interest in Israel’s Iron Beam laser-based system, seen as a cost-effective, ‘light-speed’ solution against low-cost aerial threats.
The collaboration aims to protect cities and critical infrastructure, complementing long-range platforms such as the S-400 and working towards an ‘impregnable’ national security canopy by 2030.
On Wednesday, PM Modi received a standing ovation at the Knesset during his two-day state visit to Tel Aviv. He became the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Israeli Parliament, and the Knesset conferred its Medal on him.
Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “I am deeply honoured to receive the Medal of the Knesset. I accept it with humility and gratitude. This honour is not a tribute to an individual, but to the enduring friendship between India and Israel. It reflects the shared values that guide our two nations.”
