Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Slovak President Peter Pellegrini on Monday held wide-ranging discussions in Bratislava, covering areas such as manufacturing, transport, innovation, investment, energy, biofuels and digital technology, while exploring ways to further strengthen bilateral ties.
Sharing details of the meeting on X, PM Modi said the talks focused on closer cooperation in manufacturing, transport, innovation and investment linkages, as well as energy and biofuels. He also highlighted the significant potential for collaboration in digital technology and the importance of deepening people-to-people connections.

The two leaders also revisited discussions held during President Pellegrini’s visit to New Delhi earlier this year.
PM Modi described the meeting as an opportunity to continue important conversations and appreciated the Slovak President’s insights.
The leaders held delegation-level talks at the Presidential Palace.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval were among the Indian officials present.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), both leaders welcomed the growing India-Slovakia partnership. They highlighted cooperation in areas including digitalisation, innovation, defence, space, nuclear energy and education.
The MEA said the discussions focused on expanding cooperation across diverse sectors. It added that both sides also explored ways to advance the warm and friendly relations between the two countries.
The two leaders also exchanged gifts and visited a painting exhibition.
Ahead of the International Day of Yoga on June 21, a Yoga camp was organised at Slovakia’s Presidential Palace. Slovak youth participated in the event in the presence of PM Modi and President Pellegrini.
In a post on X, President Pellegrini described the visit as historic. He noted that it was the first-ever official visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia. He also congratulated PM Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving democratically elected Prime Minister.
President Pellegrini said both countries were working to expand cooperation in trade, technology, nuclear energy, space and people-to-people exchanges. He added that India and Slovakia were transforming more than three decades of diplomatic ties into a practical partnership focused on delivering results for citizens.
