Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met Netherlands King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima at the Royal Palace Huis ten Bosch in The Hague and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral ties across key sectors.
Following the meeting, PM Modi said the discussions focused on enhancing India-Netherlands cooperation in technology, innovation, sustainable growth, commerce and water resources.

It was wonderful exchanging perspectives on boosting India-Netherlands friendship across key sectors like technology, innovation, sustainable growth, commerce and water resources. India and the Netherlands are connected by shared interests and a shared belief in building a future-ready planet.”

PM Modi is visiting the Netherlands to deepen bilateral relations and advance a Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, India and the Netherlands have significantly expanded cooperation in traditional sectors such as trade, investment, water, agriculture and health. The partnership has also widened in recent years to include technology, innovation, defence, security, semiconductors, renewable energy, education and maritime cooperation.
People-to-people ties remain a major pillar of the relationship, with the Netherlands home to over 90,000 non-resident Indians and persons of Indian origin, along with more than 2,00,000 members of the Suriname Hindustani community. Around 3,500 Indian students are currently studying in Dutch universities.
Diaspora Connect
Earlier in the day, members of the Indian diaspora and friends of India welcomed PM Modi at a community reception in The Hague.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister praised the Indian community for contributing to Dutch society and serving as a ‘living bridge’ between the two nations. He also highlighted the role of Indian professionals in the technology sector and the growing number of Indian students in innovation-driven fields in strengthening bilateral ties.
