PM Modi Highlights India's Rise As Global Economic Force During New Zealand Visit

India has become a global economic force, emerging as the world’s largest milk producer, the second-largest mobile manufacturer and telecom market, and the third-largest automobile market, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday.

Addressing the Indian diaspora, PM Modi said India’s growth continues despite global economic uncertainty. He noted that the country’s development has advanced at an unprecedented pace, strengthening its position across several key sectors.

India ranks as the world’s second-largest producer of mobile phones, PM Modi said. He added that India also has the world’s second-largest telecom market.

The Prime Minister added that the country’s dairy industry leads the world, while its automobile sector has secured the third position globally.

PM Modi said India and New Zealand share an enduring friendship, democratic values and a commitment to public welfare.

“For us, it is not the size of a country’s population that matters, but its commitment to the welfare of its people,” PM Modi said.

Both nations preserve indigenous heritage, strengthening people-to-people ties, PM Modi said.

PM Modi also acknowledged New Zealand’s collaboration with India in the space sector, noting that its space industry has partnered with India on several occasions.

Referring to his visit, the Prime Minister said he brought the greetings of 1.4 billion Indians and thanked the Indian community for its warm reception.

Noting that an Indian Prime Minister visited New Zealand after a gap of 40 years, PM Modi assured the diaspora that such a long wait would not happen again.
