PM Modi Arrives In Philadelphia; Up Next: Meeting With Biden And Quad Leaders’ Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Philadelphia for a three-day visit to the United States. His trip begins with attendance at the sixth Quad Leaders’ Summit hosted by President Joe Biden in Wilmington, Delaware. Despite the long flight, PM Modi and his delegation face a packed agenda immediately upon arrival.

The Prime Minister plans to hold bilateral discussions with President Biden, Australian PM Anthony Albanese, and Japanese PM Kishida Fumio. Following these meetings, key agreements related to the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework and an India-US Drug Framework MoU are expected to be signed.

Focus on Cooperation and Future Initiatives

The Quad Leaders’ Summit is set for 4 PM EST (1:30 AM IST on Sunday) at Archmere Academy, Biden’s high school. After the plenary session, leaders will participate in the unveiling of the Cancer Moonshot event, an initiative focused on improving cancer care.

In a statement, PM Modi emphasized the importance of the Quad as a forum for peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific. He noted the ongoing deepening of the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.

Following his time in Wilmington, PM Modi will travel to New York for a diaspora rally at Nassau Coliseum, expected to draw over 16,000 attendees. He will also participate in a Business Roundtable with leading US CEOs before addressing the Summit of the Future at the UN General Assembly on September 23.
