PM Narendra Modi met with French President Emmanuel Macron
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday and addressed a wide variety of issues including cooperation in trade and economic spheres, co-production and manufacturing in the defence industry and civil nuclear cooperation.
The two leaders met in Hiroshima on the sidelines of the summit of the Group of Seven (G7) advanced economies.
They also talked about Prime Minister Modi’s upcoming trip to France for Bastille Day in July.
The Prime Minister’s Office tweeted, “PM @narendramodi held a productive meeting with President @EmmanuelMacron of France. The leaders took stock of the entire gamut of India-France bilateral relations”, through its official Twitter handle.

The Ministry of External Affairs tweeted, “Further momentum to 🇮🇳-🇫🇷 Strategic Partnership. PM @narendramodi held a bilateral meeting with President @Emmanuel Macron of France. Leaders discussed the PM’s forthcoming visit to France for Bastille Day and took stock of the progress in the India-France Strategic Partnership”, through its official Twitter handle.

“The discussions included a wide range of topics, including trade & economic spheres; civil aviation; renewables; culture; co-production and manufacturing in the defence industry, and civil nuclear cooperation. They agreed to broaden their collaboration to newer domains”, the statement reads.
Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs said, “Modi will attend this year’s Bastille Day Parade in Paris as the guest of honour on July 14”.
Along with their French counterparts, the Indian armed forces will take part in the parade.
According to the statement, Prime Minister Modi accepted French President Macron’s invitation to attend the 25th anniversary of the India-France Strategic Partnership.
