India and Finland agreed to co-host the World Circular Economic Forum in September 2026 in Gandhinagar, as stated by the Ministry of External Affairs. This initiative highlights their joint focus on advancing sustainable economic practices at a global level.

Both sides underlined the need to strengthen partnerships between industry players, research bodies and academic institutions. They pointed out that digitalisation and sustainability will remain key drivers of long-term economic progress.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, “The discussions centered on strengthening cooperation in trade & investment, digitalisation, AI, 5G/6G, quantum technologies, sustainability, renewable energy, circular economy, innovation, education, mobility and people-to-people ties.”

“The leaders underlined the importance of early entry into force of India-EU Free Trade Agreement. They also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual concern,” the MEA further added.

The interaction reaffirmed both countries’ intent to deepen cooperation and strengthen their long-standing partnership across multiple sectors.
