According to an international newspaper, which cited sources in the United States and its allies, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un intends to visit Russia this month to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to explore the prospect of providing weapons for the conflict in Ukraine.

According to the newspaper, Kim would travel from Pyongyang to Vladivostok on Russia’s Pacific coast by armored train and meet with Putin there. White house was posed with the question to react on this situation but it did not comment on this.

The proposed trip would take place as Russia and North Korea explore staging joint military drills and after Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu attempted to persuade Pyongyang to sell artillery munitions to Russia during a visit to that country. This can be a direction of North Korea supporting Russia in the war that started in the month of February in 2022.

The United States has already issued warnings that North Korea would give more weaponry to Russia, whose forces invaded Ukraine in February 2022 and which Moscow refers to as a “special military operation.” The war is fiercely opposed by the United States and its European allies. But the US and its European allies are themselves backing Ukraine so that it remains the part of NATO, in some ways this war was caused by NATO only
