The fourth Indian relief flight has reached Kathmandu as India expands its assistance for Nepal’s flood-hit areas, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Sunday.
An Indian Air Force C-130 aircraft delivered 11 tonnes of assistance, including specialised equipment and personnel, to strengthen search, rescue and recovery efforts.
The aircraft carried a tunnel technical contingent equipped for rescue operations, along with forensic experts and equipment for DNA analysis.
The relief consignment included blankets, sleeping bags, tarpaulins, plastic sheets and hygiene kits.
Jaishankar confirmed the aircraft’s arrival in a post on X, saying the supplies would support Nepal’s ongoing rescue and relief work.

India is providing support beyond immediate relief material, with efforts under way to help repair infrastructure damaged by the floods.
Jaishankar said 16 trucks carrying components for a 230-foot single-lane modular steel bridge had already reached Nepal.
Equipment needed to install seven additional Bailey bridges will be sent soon, while technical personnel are expected to arrive shortly to assist with their installation.
The latest delivery takes the total quantity of relief material airlifted from India to Kathmandu to 68.5 tonnes.
The supplies include medicines, portable generators, food packets, water purification tablets and technical equipment.
India began its emergency response on Wednesday when an IAF C-130J Hercules aircraft transported 10 tonnes of relief material, including temporary shelters, blankets, hygiene kits, solar lamps and medicines.
A day later, an IAF C-17 Globemaster aircraft delivered another 37.5 tonnes.
The shipment included tents, blankets, hygiene kits, solar lamps, dewatering pumps, kitchen sets, generators, medicines and food items.
Jaishankar said India’s assistance would continue as Nepal works to respond to the devastation and restore essential infrastructure.
