The ‘MV LILA NORFOLK’ cargo ship was hijacked late night on the coast of Somalia and is being closely monitored by the Indian Navy which has dispatched a warship towards it, military authorities said on Friday.
The hijacked ship has 15 Indians on board, and contact with the crew has been established.
According to military officials, the ship hijacked off Somalia’s coast on Thursday evening. Furthermore, the Indian Navy aircraft have been kept an eye on the ship.
In addition, the Indian Navy destroyer INS Chennai is headed towards the hijacked ship to tackle the situation.
