Former US President Donald Trump was injured in a shooting incident at an election rally, just one day before the Republican Party’s convention to officially nominate him for the presidency. The incident occurred when Trump was struck by what appeared to be two shots, causing him to fall to the ground. Secret Service agents promptly shielded him and escorted him to safety, with Trump visibly bleeding from the right side of his face. He was subsequently taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

Local authorities confirmed that the unidentified shooter, who was positioned in a nearby building, was fatally shot by law enforcement. Unfortunately, a member of the audience also lost their life, and another individual sustained severe injuries.
In a national address, President Joe Biden against the violence, stating, “There is no place in America for this kind of violence. It’s sick.” He added that he intended to speak with Trump, addressing him as “Donald” in a rare display of familiarity. Biden refrained from speculating on whether the incident was an assassination attempt, opting to await further facts.
The Secret Service and Trump’s team have assured that the former President is safe and receiving medical attention. Trump Communications Director Steven Cheung reported that Trump is “fine” and being evaluated at a local medical facility. The incident has raised concerns about political violence and the need for peaceful discourse in American politics.
