Hamas Refutes Israeli Claims Of Targeting Military Leaders In Gaza Strike

Israeli claims that its military leaders were targeted in a recent attack in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis, southern Gaza.

Israeli Claims Of Targeting Military Leaders

Hamas has denied Israeli claims that its military leaders were targeted in a recent attack in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis, southern Gaza. The “claims about targeting leaders are false claims,” Hamas said in a statement, noting that it is not the first time that Israel “has claimed to target Palestinian leaders, and then it was later proven to be false,” reported Xinhua news agency.

“These false claims are only to cover up the extent of the horrific massacre,” said the statement.

Hamas stated that Israel has made similar claims in the past, only to be proven false later. The group’s statement did not provide any information on the current status of its military leaders, Mohammed Deif and Rafa’a Salameh, who were allegedly targeted in the Israeli airstrike.

The Israeli Defense Forces claimed that the strike was “well-planned and carried out with extreme precision,” but did not provide further details. Deif, 58, has been a long-time target for Israel and has survived several attempts on his life.

The attack on Khan Younis has been widely condemned, with Gaza health authorities reporting high casualties and widespread destruction. The incident has sparked tensions in the region, with Hamas vowing to retaliate against Israeli aggression.
