According to state media, Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea declared that his country would not think twice about nuclear attack if an enemy provokes them with its nuclear power. According to a news agency, Kim made the comment while meeting with soldiers from the military’s missile office regarding their recent intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launch practice.
“He (Kim) said that the resolute military activity conducted by the company this time … was … a clear explanation of the offensive counteraction mode and the evolution of the nuclear strategy and doctrine of the DPRK not to hesitate even a nuclear attack when the enemy provoke it with nukes,” news agency reported.
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the North’s official name, is abbreviated as DPRK. North Korea announced on Tuesday that it had fired its most recent intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on Monday in an effort to test the wariness of its nuclear arsenal in response to growing US hostility. The US and its allies condemned the test.
According to news agency, Kim added that Monday’s launch showed the military’s strong mobility and quick strike capacity and urged measures to increase its combat effectiveness.

Kim Yo Jong, the sister of Kim, expressed her disapproval of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in a separate statement, claiming that the meeting was an infringement on the nation’s right to self-defense.
“The UNSC should place heavy responsibility on the irresponsible behavior and act of the US and the ROK, which have aggravated the tension on the Korean peninsula through all sorts of military provocations all year round,” she said. ROK stands for South Korea’s official name, the Republic of Korea.
