Israel Launches Fresh Strikes On Iran After Missile Interception

Early Monday, the Israeli Air Force carried out a new wave of airstrikes on Iran, just hours after intercepting a missile launched from Iranian territory.

The Israeli military confirmed that more than 15 warplanes participated in the strikes, which targeted ‘military infrastructure’ in Iran’s Kermanshah province.

The operation focused specifically on surface-to-surface missile launch and storage facilities.

Iran’s missile intercepted over Israel

Before dawn, Iranian forces fired a missile toward Israel, setting off air raid sirens across much of the country.

Israeli defence systems successfully intercepted the missile, and no casualties or damage were reported.

Khamenei vows retaliation over US and Israeli attacks

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued a stern warning following the US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.

In his first public reaction, Khamenei condemned the joint actions of the US and Israel, calling them ‘a big crime’.

“The Zionist enemy has made a grave mistake and committed a serious crime, and it must be punished,” Khamenei posted on X.

“The Zionist enemy is being punished. It is being punished right now,” he further posted.

Israel reiterates commitment to Operations in Iran and Gaza

On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Israel would continue its military campaign against Iran and Gaza.

“Israel will continue to operate at full tilt in both Iran and Gaza. We will not stop this historic operation before we achieve our goals,” Netanyahu declared, signalling a prolonged phase of military engagement.

US escalates crisis with ‘Operation Midnight Hammer’

The latest strikes come in the wake of the US military’s direct intervention.

Over the weekend, US bombers and submarines launched ‘Operation Midnight Hammer’, targeting three major Iranian nuclear sites: Isfahan, Fordow, and Natanz.

The strikes reportedly killed several Iranian nuclear scientists, military commanders, and civilians.

President Donald Trump justified the offensive by hinting at the possibility of regime change in Tehran. He also cited Iran’s growing nuclear threat and aggressive posturing.

In response to the US strikes, Iran’s parliament voted to support the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic oil transit route. However, any decision on its implementation will rest with Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
