Indian All-Party Delegation Arrives In Liberia To Reaffirm Anti-Terror Stance

An All-Party Parliamentary Delegation from India, led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Eknath Shinde, arrived in Monrovia, Liberia, early Sunday (Indian time), continuing India’s diplomatic outreach under Operation Sindoor to emphasise its zero-tolerance policy on terrorism.

Liberian Officials And Indian Embassy Extend Warm Welcome

The delegation received a warm welcome from Indian Ambassador Manoj Bihari Verma, along with key Liberian dignitaries, including Sekou S Kanneh, Chairman of the Executive Committee, and Prince A Toles, Representative of the House of Representatives.

Prince A Toles, Representative, of the House of Representatives of Liberia received the delegation,” the Indian Embassy in Liberia further posted on the social media platform X.

Delegation To Hold High-Level Meetings With Liberian Leadership

Scheduled from May 31 to June 2, the visit includes a series of strategic meetings with top Liberian leadership. The delegation will meet with:

  • President of Liberia
  • Speaker of the House of Representatives
  • President Pro Tempore of the Senate
  • Minister of Foreign Affairs

They will also interact with leading think tanks and media representatives to foster dialogue, cooperation, and a deeper understanding of the global threat posed by terrorism.

Operation Sindoor: Reinforcing India’s Global Anti-Terror Message

The Liberian visit is part of Operation Sindoor, India’s global diplomatic initiative to counter terrorism.

The delegation aims to strongly communicate India’s zero tolerance towards terrorism in all its forms, particularly in the context of Pakistan-backed terror activities.

The Indian Embassy in Liberia expressed confidence that the visit would lead to constructive dialogue and a strengthened India-Liberia partnership in combating terrorism and promoting global peace.

Delegation Wraps Up Successful Visit To Sierra Leone

Before arriving in Liberia, the delegation concluded a productive visit to Sierra Leone, where members urged coordinated international action at global forums such as the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to tackle terrorism effectively.

During a meeting with the Indian delegation, Sierra Leone’s Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh expressed solidarity with India, condemned the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, and extended condolences for the 26 innocent lives lost.
