India Declares No Distinction Between Terrorists & Their Sponsors: Sanjay Jha In Indonesia

In a resolute diplomatic engagement in Jakarta, JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha declared that India will no longer differentiate between terrorists and the states that support them, in a clear reference to Pakistan.

Sanjay Jha leads an all-party delegation engaging Indonesian leaders, scholars, and ASEAN to reinforce India’s anti-terror stance.

The visit, amid tensions after the 22 April Pahalgam attack, reiterated India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism.

“We express India’s strong, bipartisan resolve to fight terrorism in all forms,” Jha said to Indonesian think tanks.

He appreciated President Prabowo Subianto and the Indonesian government for condemning the Pahalgam attack and standing in solidarity with India.

Jha firmly stated that India would no longer accept ‘nuclear blackmail’ or allow state sponsors of terrorism to hide behind geopolitical shields.

“Any future attacks will be met with decisive military action. India and Indonesia share a common resolve to eliminate terrorism,” he said, calling for collective international action.

Meetings With Key Indonesian Leaders

The Indian delegation held official talks with top Indonesian officials, including the Vice Chairman of Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation, the Chairperson of the India-Indonesia Parliamentary Friendship Group, ASEAN’s Secretary General, and the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs.

These meetings emphasised the need for regional collaboration to counter terror networks and their financiers.

Congress MP Salman Khurshid remarked on the warm response from the Indonesian side, noting their deep understanding of India’s position.

“Indonesia, like India, has been a victim of terrorism. Their solidarity with us is both genuine and strategic,” he said.

The delegation includes BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Hemang Joshi, and Pradan Baruah; Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee; CPI(M) MP John Barittas; and former diplomat Mohan Kumar.

They highlighted India’s anti-terror stance, with BJP MP Brij Lal stressing its global role in peace and stability.

Jha highlighted the importance of soft diplomacy in countering extremism.

He said think tanks and academia play a key role in shaping these narratives.

Jha expressed hope for long-term collaboration with Indonesia on policy formation.

As the Indian delegation wrapped up its visit, MP Aparajita Sarangi said, “India’s peaceful image and strong anti-terror stance have earned global respect. There is a united resolve to combat this menace.”

Next, the delegation will engage at international forums to reinforce India’s commitment to peace, security, and prosperity.
