Hamas has reaffirmed its willingness to adhere to the ceasefire agreement proposed by the United States and has firmly rejected any additional conditions imposed by other parties. The announcement followed a meeting in Doha with Qatari and Egyptian mediators on Wednesday, where Hamas’ negotiating team reiterated its “continued positivity and flexibility” in seeking a resolution for the Gaza Strip.

According to a Hamas statement, the group underscored the necessity for the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip. The statement also highlighted that the governance of the Strip should remain an internal Palestinian matter, in line with an agreed-upon Palestinian vision. Hamas expressed support for a national dialogue involving all Palestinian factions to formulate a unified vision, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
The statement comes amid stalled negotiations mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States aimed at establishing a ceasefire in Gaza. Despite objections from both Egypt and Hamas, Israel maintains its position on retaining control of the Philadelphi Corridor—a 100-meter-wide, 14-kilometer-long buffer zone along the Egypt-Gaza border.
US President Joe Biden introduced a three-phase proposal in late May, aiming to end the Gaza conflict and facilitate the release of hostages. Hamas has consistently affirmed its commitment to the terms agreed upon in previous talks, based on the US proposal and UN Security Council resolutions.
