On Monday, US-backed Kurdish-led forces said that six of their fighters had been killed in an explosive drone attack by Iran-backed armed groups operating in Syrian government-controlled regions of Deir al Zor.

Farhad Shami, a spokesperson for the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), tweeted that the drone struck an SDF commando academy at a US base at Al-Omar oilfield, killing six of our Commando fighters.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella organization of several Iran-backed Iraqi armed groups, claimed responsibility for a drone attack on Al-Omar field on Monday, stating it took place on February 4.

Over the weekend, the US unleashed dozens of strikes against Iranian-backed forces in Iraq and Syria, killing approximately 40 people, the vast majority of whom were claimed to be agents.

Lebanese Hezbollah has shot at Israeli targets near the Lebanon-Israel border, Iraqi militias have fired on US forces in Iraq, Syria, and Jordan, and the Houthis have fired on Red Sea vessels.
