Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has publicly criticized Google, suggesting that the tech giant may be interfering with the US Presidential election.

Musk’s comments were prompted by a Google search result that he found questionable.

Musk shared a screenshot on X showing that a search for President Donald yielded results for President Donald Duck and President Donald Regan instead of Donald Trump, the former US President and current Republican presidential nominee.

Elon Musk questioned whether Google had imposed a search ban on Trump, implying potential election interference.

Musk posted, “Wow, Google has a search ban on President Donald Trump! Election interference?”

He further warned that Google could face significant repercussions if it was indeed meddling in the election process.

The controversy sparked a flurry of responses on X.

One user claimed that Democrats own Google, while another Musk supporter predicted that people would accuse Elon of suppressing Democrats. They pointed out that their algorithm shows posts from both parties and noted that previous management often banned dissenting views.

However, some users criticized Musk for his own practices on X, pointing out, “You have a search ban on so many accounts you don’t like. What’s the difference?”

This incident comes as the presidential race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump heats up.

According to a new Wall Street Journal poll, Trump holds a slight lead with 49 percent of the vote compared to Harris’s 47 percent.

The poll also indicates a surge in support for Harris among non-white voters and growing enthusiasm among Democrats for her campaign.

As the election draws nearer, the debate over tech giants’ roles in shaping public opinion and information access is likely to intensify, with Musk’s comments adding fuel to the fire.
