These two women used to work in Twitter and they have claimed that they have been deeply affected by the sudden mass layoffs. Women have alleged that women employees have been targeted in the retrenchment of thousands of employees. The women told the court that Twitter had employed more male employees before the layoffs and said that 57 percent of female employees were fired in the layoffs. This is much higher than the percentage of male employees fired.
According to the report of news agency AP, women have alleged that women have been hurt by the retrenchment.
