EAM Jaishankar, Australian Counterpart Discusses Bilateral Ties Prior To Quad Meet

Taking to the social media platform X, S Jaishankar informed about his meeting with Wong. He wrote, “A great start this morning meeting Australian FM Senator Penny Wong in Tokyo.”

The discussed subjects between the leaders were the steps to strengthen the ties of the two nation and increased cooperation along Indo-pacific region.

“Spoke about further steps to intensify our bilateral ties, including in security, trade and education. Also discussed deepening our practical cooperation across the Indo-Pacific. Look forward to continuing this at the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting shortly,” the EAM added.

The eighth meeting of Quad Foreign Ministers is taking place on Monday in Tokyo. The grouping conprises, Japan, Australia, India and United States. Experts anticipate that leader will review and build on continuing initiatives. They may also annouce the deliverable outcomes.

This conference comes after the ministers’ summit in Hiroshima earlier this year and the follow-up meeting that was held in New York thereafter.

The Indo-Pacific region’s openness, stability, and prosperity are the goals of the Quad, a diplomatic alliance of four nations.

The goal of this meeting is to further the prior conversations and strengthen member country collaboration.
