An individual named Amir Sarfaraz Tamba, who was implicated in the murder of Indian death row prisoner Sarabjit Singh in Pakistan and known for his association with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror group founder Hafiz Saeed, was fatally shot by unidentified gunmen in Lahore today, according to official sources.
The incident occurred in Lahore’s Islampura area, where Tamba was targeted by assailants riding motorcycles. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, he succumbed to his injuries.
Sarabjit Singh, aged 49, passed away due to a heart attack on May 2, 2013, at Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital after enduring a severe assault by fellow inmates, including Tamba, within the confines of Lahore’s high-security Kot Lakhpat jail. Singh had been in a coma for nearly a week prior to his demise.

Born in Lahore in 1979, Tamba had close ties with the LeT founder. He was allegedly involved in various bombings in Pakistan’s Punjab province in 1990 and subsequently received the death penalty for his involvement.
The unfortunate demise of both Sarabjit Singh and Amir Sarfaraz Tamba underscores the complex and fraught nature of Indo-Pak relations, particularly within the context of cross-border tensions and acts of terrorism.
