3 Hurt In Knife Attack At Paris Railway Station, Suspect Detained

Three persons were hurt Saturday in a knife attack at Paris’s Gare de Lyon railway station, a key transportation hub, police stated, adding that the suspect had been apprehended.

The apprehended man, whose nationality was unknown, began stabbing people at 8:00 a.m. (0700 GMT) at the station, which serves both local and international trains to Switzerland and Italy.

According to authorities, one individual was seriously injured, while two others were lightly hurt.

“The suspect did not cry out (any religious slogans) during his attack”, a police source stated.

“He presented the police with an Italian driving license”, the official added.

As per the rail operator SNCF, the area between halls one and three was temporarily inaccessible.
