Prayagraj, Aug 29: The Allahabad High Court has ordered the Basic Education Secretary of Uttar Pradesh to issue a circular to all Basic Shiksha Adhikaris (BSAs) in the state. The court directed that the required information must be provided immediately and the issued order should be filed in court.
Court’s Serious Concern
Justice Prakash Padia issued the order while hearing a petition by Mirzapur resident Pooja, who sought a compassionate appointment under the deceased dependent quota. The Basic Education Officer had rejected her application, prompting her to challenge the decision in the High Court. The court had previously asked the District Basic Education Officer of Mirzapur for information on August 8, 2024, but received no response, delaying the hearing.
Instructions to BSAs
The court expressed concern over the recurring issue of delayed responses from District Basic Education Officers. The judge noted that many cases face delays because BSAs fail to respond to court notices. The court ordered the Basic Education Secretary to instruct BSAs statewide to comply promptly, ensuring timely case hearings.
