Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah Mosque dispute

The Allahabad High Court heard civil cases related to the Mathura Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah Mosque dispute. The mosque’s legal team requested the court to hear their application to withdraw the order that mandates all cases be heard together before addressing the main issues. Justice Mayank Kumar Jain is overseeing the 18 civil cases involved. The next hearing is scheduled for September 23.

Court Seeks Temple Side’s Response

The court asked the temple side to respond to the mosque’s request. Senior advocate Tasneem Ahmadi, representing the mosque, appeared via video conferencing. He urged the court to consider their recall application first. In January 2024, an order was issued to hear all related cases together. Ahmadi argued that the recall application, filed against this order, should be addressed before proceeding with the case.

Additional Pleas and Requests

In one of the cases, a unilateral hearing was ordered due to a missed deadline for filing a written statement. The mosque side has submitted a recall application for this. Advocate Mahendra Pratap Singh, representing another case, submitted key points and requested a swift resolution based on these arguments. Meanwhile, plaintiff Ashutosh Pandey filed an application for daily hearings, while advocate Hareram Tripathi requested more time to submit additional documents.
