Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that will significantly enhance how users manage and access media shared within community group chats.

According to a recent report by WABetaInfo, the upcoming feature aims to provide community members with an overview of all images, videos, and other media files shared within their groups.

This will streamline the process of locating and accessing shared content, making it easier for users to stay informed and connected.

“This helps maintain community guidelines by ensuring prompt identification and addressing of inappropriate content,” the report stated.

The feature is particularly beneficial for members who are not very active in certain group chats, as it will allow them to catch up on important updates and media shared while they were inactive.

Currently under development, the feature will roll out in a future update of the app.

By providing a centralized location to browse all shared media, WhatsApp aims to simplify the search process and improve user experience within community groups.

In addition to this, WhatsApp is also reportedly working on a new privacy feature for iOS users that will prevent them from taking screenshots of profile pictures.

WABetaInfo shared a screenshot revealing that users trying to take a screenshot of a profile photo will encounter a notification. It states that the action has been blocked to protect privacy on the app.

These developments underscore WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to enhance user experience and privacy on its platform.
