In a bid to enhance user experience, WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is likely to introduce a new ‘communities tab’ feature specifically tailored for iPad users.

This development aims to streamline community management directly from the iPad app, addressing previous limitations associated with the device.

Previously, iPad users encountered challenges accessing community features due to its status as a linked device.

According to insights from WABetaInfo, the communities tab will now enable users to seamlessly navigate and manage their communities within the app, eliminating the inconvenience of manual searches amidst other conversations.

The update allows iPad users not only to explore existing communities effortlessly but also to create and manage new ones directly from the dedicated tab.

This enhancement marks a significant step towards ensuring parity in feature availability across various devices, empowering iPad users with full access to WhatsApp’s community functionalities.

Currently available to select beta testers, the communities tab will roll out gradually to more users in the coming days, enhancing the utility of WhatsApp on iPad devices.

In parallel developments, WhatsApp is reportedly testing an in-app dialer feature, which will enable users to initiate calls without the need to add contacts to their address book.

This feature, accessible through a new floating action button within the calls tab, underscores WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to integrate more functionality directly within its platform.

As WhatsApp continues to innovate and expand its feature set, these updates are poised to offer enhanced usability and convenience for millions of users globally, reflecting Meta’s commitment to enriching communication experiences across its platforms.
