Subsidized meals for pilgrims visiting Sangam during Maha Kumbh

The proposal was tabled in the meeting of Prayagraj Mela Authority in which board members passed the proposal along with some directions. Under this, lunch will be arranged for five thousand people and dinner for the same number of people every day.

Prayagraj:  Prayagraj  Mela Authority has decided to provide  breakfast at subsidized rate for Rs 5 and full meal at Rs 10, to the pilgrims visiting Kumbh Mela.

For this the proposal was tabled in the meeting of Prayagraj Mela Authority in which board members passed the proposal alongwith some directions. Under this, lunch will be arranged for five thousand people and dinner for the same number of people every day.

Giving the above said information Maha Kumbh Mela Adhikari Vijay Kiran Anand told that although this arrangement is being prepared to start before the Maha Kumbh, even after the Maha Kumbh, food and snacks will be provided at cheap rates near the Sangam throughout the year. A tender will be floated for this soon, which agency will get the tender. For this, a hygienic community kitchen will be built.

Further process will start by funding the feasibility gap of the proposal (under which the completeness of income and expenditure will be reviewed). In the meeting, DM Navneet Singh Chahal, PDA Vice President Arvind Singh Chauhan, Magh Fair Officer Dayanand Prasad, Additional Fair Officer Vivek Chaturvedi, Deputy Fair Officer Vivek Shukla, CMO Dr. Ashu Pandey and Chief Engineers of Power Corporation, Municipal Corporation, PDA, PWD were present. About 100 officers were present.
