Banda: Tragedy struck a village in the district as a father, who was making preparations for his daughter’s wedding, tragically took his own life by hanging himself on Tuesday night. Police arrived at the scene Wednesday morning, recovered the body, and initiated an investigation. While some individuals speculated that alcohol consumption led to the suicide, family members cited unspecified reasons. However, the police are exploring all possible angles in their investigation.

Rammanohar (46), a resident of Harbanshpurwa in the Pailani police station area, was set to celebrate his daughter Reshma’s wedding on April 25. The household was filled with joy, and relatives had gathered in anticipation of the marriage. However, the family received devastating news that Ram Manohar had ended his life by hanging himself from a Neem tree in the field. His body was discovered by family members upon their arrival, prompting immediate distress and a call to the police.

Upon receiving the report, police promptly conducted an investigation, completed the necessary formalities, and sent the body for post-mortem examination. According to Kailash, Rammanohar’s son, preparations for Reshma’s wedding were underway, with her father having purchased all the dowry items and brought them home the day before. Ram Manohar had left the house in an inebriated state late at night and did not return. Subsequently, news spread of his tragic demise.

Sandeep Patel, the Police Station incharge, revealed that the family learned Ram Manohar was struggling with substance abuse issues. However, conclusive information regarding the circumstances leading to his suicide remains elusive. Speculations about a marital argument have surfaced, but the matter is currently under investigation.
