India announced its team for the 2025 Squash World Cup, scheduled in Chennai from December 9 to 14.
The Squash World Cup returns to Chennai under the Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI).
The mixed-gender format will see teams of two men and two women compete for the title in Tamil Nadu.
In 2023, Egypt staged a thrilling comeback to beat Malaysia in front of a packed crowd at Express Avenue Mall.
India secured the bronze medal and now aims for gold with a mix of experienced players and fresh talent.
India Men’s No 1 Abhay Singh will lead the team. Singh aims to win the Squash World Cup on home soil, leveraging his experience and determination.
Velavan Senthilkumar will join him and make his SDAT Squash World Cup debut this December.
The 27-year-old Senthilkumar has previously represented India successfully.
He won the 2024 and 2025 Asian Doubles Squash Championships and the 2022 Men’s Asian Squash Team Championships.
He now seeks to add another medal to his collection. The home crowd will also cheer for hometown hero and former World No 10 Joshna Chinappa.
The 39-year-old veteran will represent India again, guiding the team to secure a gold medal.
India’s Woman No 1, Anahat Singh, will make her Squash World Cup debut.
At 17, she is the youngest player in the tournament. Singh aims to make an impact and win gold for India before the sell-out Chennai crowd.
With a blend of experience and youth, India enters the tournament with high ambitions.
The squad blends experience and youth to challenge top teams and thrill home fans.
