Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed profound grief over the tragic bus accident near Medina, Saudi Arabia, which involved multiple Indian Umrah pilgrims.
The collision occurred early in the morning when a passenger bus travelling from Mecca to Medina crashed into a diesel tanker, resulting in a massive explosion.
In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “Deeply saddened by the accident in Medinah involving Indian nationals. My thoughts are with the families who have lost their loved ones. I pray for the swift recovery of all those injured.”
He further added that the Indian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate in Jeddah are providing ‘all possible assistance’ and remain in close coordination with Saudi authorities to ensure the affected receive timely support.

Emergency Measures Activated
Following confirmation of the incident, the Consulate General of India in Jeddah immediately set up a 24/7 control room to assist distressed families and provide verified updates.
Helpline numbers have been released to facilitate communication for those seeking information about their relatives.

Details of the Accident
