Delhi Weather Today: Rain, Thunderstorms Likely Across Capital, IMD Forecasts

Delhi is likely to receive another spell of rainfall on Monday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting showers across several parts of the national capital.

A low-pressure area over southwest Uttar Pradesh and adjoining regions continues to influence weather conditions over Delhi and neighbouring areas.

Several parts of the capital received rain on Sunday, providing some relief from humid conditions.

The IMD has forecast Monday as the wettest day of the week, with very light to light rain likely at many places and moderate showers possible in isolated areas.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning may occur during the morning and forenoon, followed by another spell of light rain from afternoon to evening.

The maximum temperature will stay between 33°C and 35°C, while the minimum will range from 23°C to 25°C.

Rainfall will ease from September 8, with partly cloudy skies expected.

Temperatures will reach 33°C–35°C during the day and 24°C–26°C at night.

On September 9 and 10, temperatures will range between 32°C and 34°C, with minimums of 24°C–27°C. Cloudy skies will continue on September 11 and 12, with temperatures reaching 31°C–33°C. The IMD expects no rain on these two days. No rainfall has been forecast for these two days.

Delhi recorded significant rainfall during the previous 24 hours.

Safdarjung received 29.8 mm, Palam recorded 35.6 mm, while IGNOU University reported the highest rainfall at 50 mm.

The heavy showers caused waterlogging in several areas, including Geeta Colony and Akbar Road, disrupting normal movement.

Parts of Gurugram experienced waterlogging, slowing traffic and inconveniencing commuters.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conducted a surprise inspection of Sadhbhavana Park and adjoining roads on Saturday to assess local conditions.
