The national capital, Delhi, woke up to cloudy skies on Monday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting overcast conditions along with very light rain, thunderstorms, and lightning till the afternoon. Air quality across the city remained in the moderate category.
While Delhi is likely to witness brief weather activity, neighbouring regions are expected to remain relatively stable.
Ghaziabad and Noida may see clear skies with no rainfall, whereas Gurugram could experience partly cloudy conditions during the day.
The cooling effect from recent showers persisted, even as temperatures rose slightly.
The maximum temperature settled at 29.5°C, about 2°C below normal, while the minimum stood at 15.6°C, 1.7°C below the seasonal average.
According to IMD forecasts, cloudy skies are expected to continue through the week, with temperatures gradually rising.
Maximum temperatures may reach 32–34°C by Saturday, while minimum temperatures are likely to hover between 16°C and 18°C.
Rainfall activity is expected to subside after March 24, with partly cloudy skies prevailing.
Daytime temperatures may range between 30°C and 32°C, while nighttime temperatures could remain between 14°C and 16°C.
No significant rainfall is anticipated in the coming days, although cloud cover may increase again by March 26.
Earlier, on March 21, dense fog and heavy cloud cover following rainfall made it the coldest March day in six years.
Meanwhile, air quality across Delhi continues to remain stable in the moderate range.
